The Minister of State for Health has launched two campaigns: the General Neurological and Angular Surgery Campaign and the Fistula Repair Campaign.
For the first time, the Ministry of Health and Human Services is collaborating with the Association of Continental Doctors and Organizations (PAC) to launch the 10th Fistula Repair Campaign and the campaign for general surgery connected to nerves and angulation.
Dr. Maryam Mohamed Hussein, Minister of State for the Ministry of Health in the Federal Government of Somalia, officially launched these two parallel campaigns. On the other hand, the Minister of State congratulated the physicians who gave their knowledge and time. Those doctors are from Somalia, Jordan, Palestine, and Nigeria, and they are all doctors/professors who are fully specialized in the diseases and surgeries they are now conducting.
The Ministry of Health is carrying out a fistula repair campaign at Dayniile Hospital, where 300 patients are receiving neurosurgical and urological surgery at Demartino Public Hospital.
All of the services provided by this campaign are free of charge in order to alleviate the poor of the burden of disease, and high-level training will be provided to local physicians during the campaign in order to develop their abilities as doctors in the country.
